And Birds That Carry Omens Brought No Message

Being a parent is a mixed bag, at best.

There is joy and wonder, to be sure. But when you realize that you are wholly responsible for a new life, you realize how truly vulnerable you are to all of the misfortune and sorrow the world has to offer. And it never goes away.

In the second part of our exploration of the story of Persephone and Hades, we shift our perspective to focus on Demeter and her role in the myth.

As with our last episode, Demeter has a difficult path to walk and we follow her into some dark and difficult territory.

When her daughter goes missing, the goddess of the harvest is bereft . . . but she is determined to find Kore and bring her back, no matter who stands in her way.

By the way, I neglected to mention it in the episode but the music in this week’s show is from Wes Meixner. You can find more of his work on BandCamp.
